Understanding the allocation engines recommendations

The allocation engine uses the following inputs to provide you with recommended allocations:

  1. The Preferences provided by a family for their child (service or program)
  2. The Priority score calculated for a child - learn more about priority scores here
  3. The capacity for a service / program - learn more about managing capacity here

After accessing the allocation engine you will have available two views of the recommended allocations

Allocation DetailsAllocation Summary
Tabular view of each child's score, preferences and the  allocation engines recommendationGraphical view of the service / programs suggested, allocated and vacancies (totalling to the available capacity)

Features of the Allocation Details view include:

  • Sort based on any column by clicking the arrows next to the column titles (eg. sort based on child score)
  • Filter any column by typing filter criteria in the search box under any column title
  • Show only 1st, 2nd or 3rd preferences achieved using the achieved filter
  • Override recommended allocations by selecting an alternative allocation in the Achieved column. Note, you will only be able to override the allocation where capacity is available.
  • Commit Allocations: using this button will bulk allocate all children in the current view (eg. if the view is filtered to only 1st preference achieved, commit allocation will only change those filtered children to a status of allocated
  • Download view (this download will include a tab for both the details and the summary view)
  • Commit Allocations: using this button will bulk allocate all children in the current view (eg. if the view is filtered to only 1st preference achieved, commit allocation will only update those children in view to be allocated).
