SMS: Status

Each SMS you send is given a status so you can track what happened to it. SMS statuses work a little differently from email statuses — for example, there's no way to tell whether an SMS has been opened or read.

The following statuses are possible

  • Sent – the SMS has been sent from your system to the parent.
  • Received – a reply from the parent back to you. This only applies if you have 2-Way SMS enabled, which allows the recipient to reply.
  • Scheduled – an SMS set to send at a future date.
  • Pending – the state between you pressing Send and the SMS leaving our platform.
  • Bounced – the SMS couldn't be delivered (for example, an invalid or disconnected mobile number).
  • Cancelled – usually a scheduled SMS or campaign that was cancelled before it was sent.

The SMS status is recorded against each child record, under the SMS section.

Click the relevant SMS to see its full details, including the status. These statuses can also be used in reports and filters.
