Email Deliverability: avoiding spam in Gmail

If your Gmail account is marking emails from your Kindergarten/Preschool as spam, please try one (or all) of the following. You may wish to share these ideas with families at the kindergarten if they are experiencing issues with your emails going to junk / spam


Option 1 - Mark the emails as "not spam"

  1. In Gmail, navigate to the spam folder,
  2. Search for an email from your Kindergarten/Preschool,
  3. Select all the emails shown from your Kindergarten/Preschool,
  4. Mark emails as "Not spam" as per the below screenshot:




Option 2 - Save your Kindergarten/Preschool's email address as a contact

  1. Go to contacts.google.com,
  2. Select "Create contact",
  3. Enter your Kindergarten/Preschool's email address and name,
  4. Click "Save",


Option 3 - Create a Filter Rule in Gmail

  1. Click the cog icon in the top-right corner, and then click "Settings" or "See all settings",
  2. Click on "Filters" or "Filters and Blocked Addresses",
  3. Click on "Create a new filter",
  4. Enter your Kindergarten/Preschool's email address in the "From" field,
  5. Click "Create filter",
  6. Select "Never send it to Spam",
  7. Click "Create filter",
