To move a child from one allocated program to another, the child must hold a preference for the program you're moving them to. How you go about it depends on whether that preference is already held.
If the child already holds a preference for the new program
- Un-allocate the child from their current program — either from the program preference itself, or, for extended preferences, using the Un-allocate option on the child record. See Un-allocate a child to return them to the waitlist.
- Return to the allocation engine and allocate the child to the new program.
If the child does not yet hold a preference for the new program
- Add the preference using the TY - SUBMIT PROGRAM PREFERENCE or NY - SUBMIT PROGRAM PREFERENCE quick action button on the child record. See Add or Update a Child's Program Preferences.
- Then use the allocation engine to reallocate the child to the new program.
Note: if the child already held an enrolled status for the same care period, they'll be automatically returned to enrolled once they're allocated to the new program — so the family doesn't need to complete the enrolment form again.
