Approving a child for Special Consideration

Dependent on the specific customisation of your EnrolNow One portal, you may have a priority score item (used by the allocation engine) which provides for children marked as Special Consideration Approved = TRUE to be allocated a higher number of points for their Score.

Special Consideration Approved can be used for several reason, the most common being:

  • Where an application is submitted for a child with Additional Needs: many services prefer to assess the additional needs details provided to evaluate whether these qualify a child for Priority of Access. If the criteria is met then the child is updated to Special Consideration Approved = TRUE. Priority of Access Points are therefore allocated based on this field rather than the Additional / Special Needs fields
  • Service specific priority rules that include judgement: eg. where a service invites applicants to provide additional comments as to why they should be provided with special consideration.

The Special Consideration Approved flag can be simply updated by editing directly in the child record.

Please send an email to support@enrolnow.com.au if you would like an automated task setup to manage the approval process for special consideration. Tasks can be triggered (for example where an application is received with Additional Needs = Yes). These tasks will include details as to the process you should follow next.
