How to Send a Test Email (End-to-End Method)

The EnrolNow One Platform comes with a set of predefined email templates. Before you send a template to families, we recommend testing it first using a Test Child. This lets you confirm the content, links, and the full workflow behave as expected.

EnrolNow will have at least one Test Child populated which you can use. Alternatively, you can create your own Test Child — see Adding a New Child.

Steps to send a test email

  1. Select a Test Child
    • Choose a Test Child record.
    • Make sure the child has the right status for the template you want to test.
    • Example: For a “NY – Program Preference” email, the child should be Service Allocated for next year for a program type (3YO or 4YO).
    • Example: For a “TY – Enrolment” email, the child should be Allocated for this year to a specific program.
  2. Open the Send Email tool
    • From the child profile, click Send Email (top right).
  3. Insert your template
    • In the email pop-up, click Insert Template.
    • Search for and select the template you want to test.
  4. Update the recipient
    • Change the To email address from the Test Child’s address to your own (or whoever is checking the test).
  5. Send the test email
    • Click Send.
    • Check that the email arrives, looks correct, and that all links (e.g. enrolment forms) work as expected.
    • Submit the form to check that the child is updated as expected and that any automations on form submission are correct.

Tip: This method is best for a full end-to-end check (email + form + CRM updates). If you only want a quick content and link preview, see Previewing Emails with a Live Child.
