Supporting the new Department of Education (DE) eligibility updates
Why we’re making this change
The current Integrated Program Preference Form (IPPF) includes a section for Concessions, which was originally designed to help determine eligibility for Department of Education (DE) funding.
With the recent DE Initiative updates, this process has been improved. The way we collect and store concession information has changed to make it clearer and more efficient.
Previously, the Concessions field included a mix of different information (like Health Care Cards, Pensioner Cards, DVA Cards and Visa details). Now, the Visas and Concessions will be stored separately for better accuracy and reporting which has been achieved using IPPF v2.
What’s changing in IPPF v2
The new version of the Integrated Program Preference Form has been updated to align with the DE Initiative changes.
IPPF v2 will:
- Add separate questions for:
- Health Care Card (HCC)
- Pensioner Concession Card (PCC)
- DVA Card
- Multiple Birth
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI)
- Update the Visa Type field to focus only on Visa information
- Include new field mappings that align with the updated eligibility fields in your CRM allowing you to collect and record concessions and other relevant information separately
What this means for you
If your organisation uses the 2-step enrolment process and has the DE Initiative updates in place, you will move to IPPF v2 as part of a managed rollout.
This update will make it easier to:
- Capture concession and eligibility details accurately.
- Keep Visa and concession data separate.
- Ensure information maps correctly to your CRM fields.
- Stay aligned with the Department’s latest requirements.
You don’t need to take any action to make the switch, we’ll manage this for you when your CRM is ready.
Form visibility and setup
IPPF v2 retains all the questions that are currently available to you in the IPPF but we have also added two new optional settings to control what appears on the form:
- visas=1 displays Visa question
- aboriginal=1 displays Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander question
These options allow the form to be tailored to your specific setup.

Other updates included
We’ve also updated:
- Your email templates to support the updated form.
- Quick action buttons in your system to make it easier to send or manage the form.
