We've added a new optional way to help you keep families' authorised nominees current and accurate!
Why we're introducing this
A number of Services advised us they needed a way to control the period in which authorised nominees are valid. By default, authorised nominees remain valid in your system until your Service marks them as archived. That behaviour isn't changing. This new feature simply gives you the option to have expiry dates applied automatically if that suits how your Service works.
What's changing?
Nothing changes unless you ask us to turn this on. If you don't opt in, authorised nominees will continue to work exactly as they do now. They'll stay valid until your Service archives them, with no automatic expiry.
If you do opt in, each authorised nominee will have an expiry date. Depending on the option you choose, this date is either entered by families on your forms or applied automatically by the system. Once that date arrives, that nominee's authorisations are automatically removed, with no manual intervention required on your end.
Authorised nominees still become valid as soon as the form is submitted. Expiry dates only control when they end.

This means each family's authorised nominee list stays current, based on the dates families provide or the option your Service chooses.
What you need to do
Nothing right now. This feature is off by default, so your authorised nominees will keep working as they do today unless you choose to opt in.
If you'd like to start using expiry dates, please contact our Customer Support Team. When you get in touch, let us know which of the following options suits your Service:
- Expire at the end of the enrolment year: All authorised nominees automatically expire on 31 December of the year the enrolment form relates to. For example, nominees on a 2027 enrolment form expire on 31 December 2027.
- Families can set the expiry date, with a default: Families can enter an expiry date for each authorised nominee on your enrolment form, or when updating their authorised nominees. If no date is entered, it defaults to 31 December of the year the enrolment form relates to.
When we turn this on, we'll also apply an expiry date of 31 December next year to your existing authorised nominees, unless you'd like a different date. We'll confirm this with you before making any changes.
You can ask us to turn this off at any time.
If you have any other questions about this change, please reach out to us. We're happy to help.
