Central Enrolments: Allocate a child to a service

You can use this process to either allocate a child to a service for the first time, or to change the service they are allocated to (providing that they already hold a preference for the service they will move to).

Note: In order to allocate a child to a service they must first hold a preference for that service. All children added to the waitlist will hold service preferences (for up to three services), however if you need to change these service preferences please refer here

1. On a child record, using the left hand grey menu bar, click on Service Preferences

2. Select the Service Preference for the relevant care period (eg. if you are updating 2020 allocations, ensure you are selecting a Service Preference related to that year)

3. Update the status of the service to 'Allocated'. Note, if there are other services preferenced you may need to update these too ('Not Required' or 'Waitlisted') Tip: be sure to click the green tick to save your change

4. When you return to the child record you will see the following updates:

  • a new associated Service Allocation
  • the child status is "Service Allocated"
  • the service allocated will now reflect the service
